Traditional methods of storing and verifying academic documents—such as mark sheets and scorecards—are highly vulnerable to damage, fraud, loss, and slow verification processes.
Students often face challenges when applying for jobs or higher education due to:

  • Manual document verification delays

  • Lack of secure and tamper-proof digital storage

  • Difficulty managing multiple academic credentials

  • Low trust and high chances of document manipulation

Educational institutions also struggle with verification requests, leading to time-consuming, repetitive processes.

Alfolio needed a modern, secure system that leverages blockchain technology to create authentic, instantly verifiable digital academic credentials.

To solve this, I designed a user-centric mobile app that uses blockchain to ensure safe, tamper-proof credential storage.

Key solutions included:

Secure Digital Storage

A blockchain-based vault where students can store mark sheets, scorecards, and academic credentials with full encryption and ownership.

Instant Verification System

Institutions and employers can verify documents in seconds via QR codes or secure links—without intermediaries.

Simple, Intuitive UI

A clean interface that helps users easily upload, manage, and share credentials without technical complexity.

Document Tracking & Authorization

Users can monitor verification activity and control access with advanced permissions.

Responsive and Modern Visual Design

UI created with soft colors, strong spacing, and accessible typography for clarity and ease of use.

The final design successfully merged blockchain reliability with seamless user experience, making credential management effortless and trustworthy.

Challenge :

Designing a blockchain-based system for non-technical users required simplifying complex concepts such as:

  • Credential hashing

  • Verification chains

  • Secure authorization

  • Immutable storage

The main challenge was ensuring the interface felt simple and familiar, even though the technology behind it is highly advanced.

Another challenge was optimizing the design for:

  • Multiple user roles (students, institutions, employers)

  • Varying document formats

  • Cross-device consistency

Maintaining a balance between security, clarity, and usability was essential throughout the design process.
